Our Rooms

Hedgehogs

Our babies 0 - 2 years are very precious to us and we lovingly named this room 'Hedgehogs' because they have a strong exploratory impulse.

Most babies are excited with their new surroundings but for other babies this is their first time away from their family and for this reason our staff encourage parents to bring in a 'comfort box' full of their favourite items from home.

We also have a sensory area where the babies experience different textures, colours, hues, sounds and smells. We help them to interact with others and their environment by smiling, looking, singing, dancing and even Forest School. We also take them for walks every day to explore the wider environment of the nature reserve in Fradley Junction.

Robins

The Robins Room is for 2 - 3 years old. The children's learning and development is growing all the time!  Not only are they learning to cope with their emotions (which are very strong at this age), they are also soaking in information all the time.

We work jointly with the child's health visitor and complete a 2 year progress check during your child's time with us. This gives the health visitor a clearer picture of your child's development and the next steps to be taken for their progress.

We continue to reinforce their learning by observing how they respond to familiar sounds, being aware of their body language as many are still trying to understand how to express their feelings, and how this affects others.

Badgers

Now that the children are 3 years old and are ready to fly the nest from the Robins Room they join the pre-schoolers. Like badgers, your child is stronger physically and emotionally and show a tenacious approach to life's challenges, that is, get ready for "the big school".

With this is mind, we assist them to take their first steps towards their independence, even with simple things such as using cutlery properly, cleaning and tidying up after themselves, going potty on their own, etc.

Foxes

The children are now around 4 years old and have come a long way in their development. Their agile minds are always active so we help them in their preparation towards entering school. We liaise with the local schools to plan activities and visits to make their transition from nursery to school a smooth and pleasant experience.

In July, before breaking for Summer holidays and entering school in September they have their graduation ceremony so they dress up in their gowns and wear proudly their hats as they walk to receive their certificate of completion.

Tigers and Holiday Club

Our Tigers Before and After School Club is commited to provide a programme of activities that is interesting, stimulating and fun for your little tigers, with access to a variety of facilities and equipment under safe and supervised conditions.

We liaise with the local schools with regards to the children's achievements, experiences and friendships, along with any difficultes which may arise and we can help sort it out.

We have two age groups: Our 5 - 7 year olds use the Badgers Room after 3:00pm while the older kids 8 - 12 stay in the Tigers own room but they do join in in certain activities and events.

The local church has a regular Muddy Time and they always invite our tigers to participate. This strengthens their  participation in community events as well as increasing their circle of friends.

The Holiday Club runs throughout all school holidays except the week at Christmas and bank holidays. Opening times are 7:30am - 6:00pm so you can select the sessions you require.
